Angels and Demons Tour: are you ready to embark on a journey between the Sacred and the Profane?

This Tour will make you explore the places of Spirituality as well as those of the ancient medieval intrigues that Rome witnessed.

We will start by admiring Castel Sant’Angelo, what was the Mausoleum of Emperor Hadrian in Ancient Rome and which over the centuries became a fortress, but also a place of torture and imprisonment as well as the Pope’s refuge in case of a siege of the city.

From the Castle we will then move along the Ponte Sant’Angelo, with its statues of St. Peter and St. Paul, Adam, Noah, Abraham and Moses.

Near the Castel Sant’Angelo, we will hear the story of Santa Caterina and we will be able to observe the famous Passetto, the elevated pedestrian walkway about 800 meters long that connects the Vatican with the Castel Sant’Angelo and which allowed the Pope to take refuge in case of danger interior of the Castle.

Walking we will reach Via della Conciliazione, in the ancient Borgo district, walking along the avenue built in the early twentieth century to ideally connect the City of Rome with the Vatican State.

Finally, we will arrive at St. Peter’s Square, in front of the Basilica.
