The meeting-point is in the magnificent St. Peter’s Square, in front of the obelisk.
The tour begins with the tale of the ancient history of the Basilica.
To enter the Basilica you have to queue for the check, but while you wait we will tell you about the square, the colonnade and the façade of the Basilica.
We will enter the Basilica talking about the doors and start the visit on the right side with the beautiful statue of Michelangelo’s Pietà.
We will continue on the right side to the altar and then continue on the left side returning to the exit.
We will see all the chapels, the statues, the canopy, the treasure room, the tomb of Pope John Paul II and many artworks.
Leaving the Basilica we will return to the obelisk to discover a small “optical” secret of the square.
ATTENTION : Inside it is preferable to wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants. Short-bound or sleeveless dresses, miniskirts, shorts and hats are not allowed.
